Whispers of the Verdant Oracle

Embracing Destiny, Casting Away, A Fresh Start

The Seer of the Green Planet

Once upon a time, in the realm of dreams, there existed a mystical and verdant Green Planet. It was a world unlike any other, where the vastness of space was not a void of darkness but a canvas of twinkling stars and a luminous moon, all clearly visible in the open sky. This planet had no trees, yet it was far from barren. It was adorned with tall, soft grass that swayed and danced as if alive, moving with the grace of water under an unseen wind.

In this otherworldly place, there walked women of ethereal beauty. They wandered gracefully, carrying baskets filled with sparkling unknown treasures and adorned with beads that shimmered in the celestial light. Their long dresses and skirts, in hues of reds and pinks, flowed around them like petals in a breeze, and their beaded necklaces sparkled like tiny stars. Among these women were brave little girls, their laughter like chimes in the wind, all of them barefoot, connected to the soul of the planet.

On this day, a visitor from another realm – you – found yourself walking on this enchanting planet. As you wandered, a small girl, perhaps six or seven years old, approached you. Her eyes sparkled with an ancient wisdom as she took your hand and said, "The Seer is ready for you and waiting to see you." She led you through the undulating grass to a clearing where many homes stood. These were not ordinary homes but tents or teepees, perhaps, draped in fabrics that whispered secrets of a world beyond.

In the heart of this clearing was the home of the Seer. Her abode was draped in red silk fabrics of various patterns, each telling a story of the cosmos. The Seer herself was a vision of beauty and strength, her presence commanding yet comforting. She looked into your eyes, and it was as if she gazed into the very depths of your soul.

"You are here to experience life in its fullness," she began, her voice a melody that resonated with the rhythm of the universe. "Do not hold back. Keep moving forward. There will be times when others let you down, but remember, this is the journey you are meant to embrace. Do not fear being an imposter in your own story, for this is your destiny. You are doing the right thing. You are strong."

As her words washed over you, another little girl, blonde and angelic, wrapped her arms around your neck in a loving embrace. "What did you used to be called?" she asked with innocent curiosity.

You replied, "Lan," or was it "Jan"? The name seemed to blur in this dreamlike state.

The Seer smiled warmly, a smile that seemed to light up the entire clearing. "She is still you," she said. "She is guiding you toward success, abundance, and goodness." And then she asked you to pour something from the folds of your own clothes into the small fire in the center of the room. Out poured sand, dirt, and a heavy metallic goo.
A lightness washes over your stomach and chest. You feel as though you are floating.

In that moment, a profound sense of familiarity enveloped you. It was as if this Green Planet, with its starry skies and graceful inhabitants, was a place you had always known, a message from beyond the waking world. It was a message of hope, strength, and the eternal journey of the soul, a reminder that every step you take is part of a grand, cosmic dance of destiny.

It was a few nights ago that I dreamt this scenario. When I woke, my cheeks were covered with tears as it touched me so deeply.
It stuck with me all week, and so, of course, I thought a lot about what it could mean.
In my mind…The Green Planet becomes a symbol of renewal and sacred beginnings, where the act of casting away the old- in its metallic, heavy, dirty goo state- is an act of rebellion and the lightness symbolizes embracing a fresh start. The new beginnings are embodied in the ethereal landscape and its inhabitants. The Seer, a figure of profound wisdom and insight, guided me through a journey of self-realization and empowerment, echoing the current themes in my life of banishment of doubts and fears, and setting goals aligned with my true destiny. The presence of the women and children, adorned in vibrant hues and moving with the rhythm of the living grass, represents the nurturing of one's inner beauty and strength, essential for the path of abundance and goodness.

Abundance and Goodness on the Green Planet

I have been guiding someone lately in goal-setting. One thing I like to focus on when setting a new goal is casting away the old to welcome in the new, and so together we wrote poems of erasure to celebrate the new year. An erasure poem is when you write a regular poem but then you crumple it up, and either erase or black out lines until it becomes a whole new poem. You may then burn the poem or tear it apart as I did. I like to poke holes in stuff- but if you like fire, let it burn, baby.
If you would like to try it for yourself, here is my erasure hex poem prompt:
Write a banishment, a hex, a release or casting away. Perhaps it is something concrete or tangible like a migraine or back ache or the winter’s chill. Or, perhaps it is something more abstract like betrayal, grief, fear, anxiety, a painful memory or a broken heart. Whatever it may be, focus on naming and filling the space with something beautiful so that it may not return. This poem will soon become a spell of great transformation. When you have finished, crumple the page, fold it, crease it, create an erasure (eliminate/cross out lines). It doesn’t have to be drastic, it just has to be changed and must not remain in its original form. When you’re done-burn it. Or tear it to bits. Sprinkle it into the wind or recycling bin.

The theme for January is COURAGE.
In the upcoming issues of our Celebrate Everything newsletter, I'll be taking a deep dive into the aspects of my life that I cherish as sacred. I'll explore how these sacred elements are intertwined with my inner strength. Additionally, I'll share insights into how my art forms a bridge, connecting me with the wider world.

You'll also get an exclusive look at my personal rituals over the course of a month. This will not only give you a glimpse into my daily practices but also serve as inspiration for incorporating similar rituals into your own life. I aim to provide you with practical tips on how you can easily integrate these rituals into your weekly routine, at least 2-3 times a week, in a relaxed and approachable manner. Stay tuned for these enlightening editions of Celebrations!
